Just want to reflect on your recent visit to Landstuhl Region Medical Center.
The service that you provide for our fighting men and women is so incredible.
Your BBQ is a home away from home meal and provide an opportunity for our
soldiers to rest and relax. It also allows them to let their guard down and
share some of their most heart wrenching experiences. Giving them an opportunity
to talk and eat becomes it's own sort of therapy.
I would like to thank you for your selfless service and dedication to our
soldiers out here. For us that have been here for a while, we count the days
until you return.

Pat,
Just saw your picture and watched some of your clips on youtube.... got a little
dust in my eye, if you know what I mean. I watched your "Thank you to our
troops" clip and was really moved. I just want to say thank you for making such
a huge effort to come out here. You are an inspiration to us out here and we are
grateful to serve such great Americans that share your thoughts, You and people
like you are why we serve.
Really looking forward to your next trip. I passed on your story to a few
friends of mine, hope some of them will donate to the cause.

example of how we demonstrate our appreciation for their sacrifices, and I thank

Hello Pat,
I do have a few pictures, but I have yet to go through them. I had eye
surgery on Monday and my eyes are slowly coming back. Today is my first day
back at work and I can see much, because my eyes are healing. I should be
able to get through them this week or at the least have my wife to put them
in a email to forward to you both. Also once again thanks for everything.
It was heartwarming to get this treatment from someone from back home. We
thank you Pat and you will always be in our hearts. Also I am sad to report
that about 45-50 people didn't see my signs and didn't come to the
cafeteria. I just wanted to let you know, because most of them went back
and saw the signs. They all said they heard the food was the best.

Fisher House™ program is a unique private-public partnership that supports
America's military in their time of need. The program recognizes the special
sacrifices of our men and women in uniform and the hardships of military service
by meeting a humanitarian need beyond that normally provided by the Departments
of Defense and Veterans Affairs.
Because members of the military and their families are stationed worldwide
and must often travel great distances for specialized medical care, Fisher
House™ Foundation donates "comfort homes," built on the grounds of major
military and VA medical centers. These homes enable family members to be close
to a loved one at the most stressful times - during the hospitalization for an
unexpected illness, disease, or injury.
There is at least one Fisher House™ at every major military medical center to
assist families in need and to ensure that they are provided with the comforts
of home in a supportive environment. Annually, the Fisher House™ program serves
more than 10,000 families, and have made available nearly 2.5 million days of
lodging to family members since the program originated in 1990. By law, there is
no charge for any family to stay at a Fisher House operated by the Department of
Veterans Affairs; and Fisher House Foundation uses donations to reimburse the
individual Fisher Houses operated by the Army, Navy, and Air Force. No family
pays to stay at any Fisher House!
In addition to constructing new houses, Fisher House™ Foundation continues to
support existing Fisher Houses™ and help individual military families in need.
Families and friends of patients at any of the military's hospitals can now
receive up-to-the-minute reports on a loved one by going to the patient's own
customized web page, thanks to new services provided through CaringBridge. We
are also proud to administer and sponsor
Scholarships
for Military Children, the
Hero Miles program,
and co-sponsor the
Newman's Own Award.
